We provide multiple avenues for your footing selection. For budget friendly or pleasure arenas, we can use our local sand blend with a mild footing additive, providing a good, cost effective footing for those seeking a high return on investment. For the performance side, we use silica sand with our top-tier geotextile and fiber additive, creating the ideal footing for those competing or for heavy use arenas. We also factor in whether it’s indoor or outdoor as our sand mix changes with each arena style.
Western /
Cutting / Reining
We also cater our arenas to our western riders as well! Western bases and footing vary significantly from English disciplines and we meet the specific demands of western disciplines like reining, cutting, and barrel racing. Our team focuses on creating a footing blend to deliver the right mix of traction, control, and shock absorption. Whether it’s achieving the perfect slide for reining or dependable traction for cutting and tight turns, we build arenas that perform consistently and hold up under heavy use, all while promoting the safety and longevity of your horses.
Outdoor / all-weather
In Western Washington, proper outdoor arena construction is essential to achieving effective drainage and minimizing downtime after heavy rain. Every detail matters—including slope, base materials, and footing selection—all of which are carefully engineered to create a reliable, high-performance riding surface. For year-round riding regardless of weather, we also offer all-weather arena systems. These arenas utilize advanced underground drainage that captures excess water and redirects it offsite, allowing you to ride comfortably even after the heaviest storms. We also install arena water management systems, an innovative solution that keeps outdoor arenas dry in the winter and consistently watered throughout the summer for ideal footing conditions year-round.
Dustless Additives
We also provide dustless footing additives, ranging from magnesium chloride to flocculation and absorbing polymers. Each additive has it’s pros and cons, magnesium being a higher up front cost, but lower cost to maintain and truly dust free. Polymers are a lower up front cost, but do require periodic watering and a re-application every 1-2 years. Additives can be pre-mixed into footing or added in after the fact.
